Professor of Criminology, Department of Sociology, Panteion University.

Director of the Master of Criminology and of Urban Criminology Laboratory, Panteion University.

Head of Administrative Board of EPANODOS, the Greek National Center for the Reintegration of Ex-Offenders.

National Representative at European Union Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN).

Studies: Law School of Athens. DEA and PhD in Criminology of University Paris II.

Author: Seven monographs, numerous criminological articles in Greek as well as international Journals or volumes.

Editor: Fifteen collective books and scientific responsible of numerous research studies. 

Member: Deputy president of the Hellenic Society of Criminology, Member of the Scientific committee of the International Society of Criminology, of the European Society of Criminology and of the Association Internationale des Criminologues de Langue Française (AICLF). Editor in chief of Urban Crime-An International Journal https://ojs.panteion.gr/index.php/uc/about   and Member of the Editorial Committee of the Revue Internationale de Criminologie et de Police Technique, of the Greek Journal Criminology etc.

Deputy Head of the Central Scientific Committee on Prisons (Greek Ministry of Justice) (2014)

Member of the committee on the reform of law on drugs and of the committee for the codification of this legislation (l. 3459/2006) as well as of the Task Scientific Group of the Ministry of Public Order for the Local Prevention Councils (2002- 2004) and of the scientific committee for the prisons attached in the Ministry of Justice (2009) and of the board of the Centre of Treatment of Drug-addicts persons (KETHEA, 2007-09).

Main Scientific/Research interests: Empirical Criminology, Urban Crime/incivilities, Fear of crime/insecurity, Victimisation’s surveys, Crime prevention, Re-integration or ex-offenders, Punitiveness, Social representations about crime and criminal justice, Community policing.
